Upcoming IFA & Treemetrics Forest Assessor Demonstration on Thursday the 18th of September 1.30pm at Rising Sun, Mullinavat, Co. Kilkenny. Forest assessor can accurately predict the quantities of log products that each tree can produce, helping to capture more value from the forest resource.

Minister launches amalgamation…

Broadleaf events 2014 – May
Wexford Wood Producers held a field trip to a member’s broadleaf plantation on 14th May, where they discussed assessment of plantations, tree marking and high pruning. The group then joined the Teagasc event in Whitechurch focusing on the management of younger broadleaf plantations, including weed and pest control.
Broadleaf visits – 14th May 2014
Wexford Wood Producers are hosting a field trip to a member’s broadleaf plantation next Wednesday 14th May. We are meeting at the Horse and Hound Hotel, Ballinaboola at 4pm, from where we will visit the broadleaf site, discuss assessment of plantations, tree marking and high pruning. We will then join the Teagasc event in Whitechurch at 7pm focusing on the management of younger broadleaf plantations, including weed and pest control.

Harvesting demonstrations – 30th April
Meeting at Delaney’s Bar, Freshford Road, Urlingford at 2pm. (Leaving from Freshford on the Urlingford Road, continue for 4 km and Delaney’s Bar is on the left hand side.) Visit to a recently thinned site followed by a harvesting demonstration with a modified head at The Islands, Urlingford.
